Feed253 exists to help fill the gap for people dealing with food insecurity.
We make it easier for neighbors to give—and for local organizations to keep serving the community every day.
How it started
A Thanksgiving drive became year-round work.
In 2009, we donated 25 turkeys and fixings to the Rescue Mission just in time for Thanksgiving.
Each year, we have increased our Thanksgiving donations. In 2016, this included 600 turkeys and more than 4 tons of food for local charities and food banks, including YWCA Pierce County, St. Leo Food Connection, the Rescue Mission, and Network Tacoma. In 2017, we became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit under the umbrella of Urban Grace Church. Our shared tax ID is 91-0577139.
Our Mission
Giving should be simple. Good food should be within reach.
Our mission is to make it as easy as possible for donors to give. We accept and will collect any food or monetary donations. Feed253 is now a year-round operation, serving as part of the YWCA's twice-weekly meal program. We continue to work to fill the gap for local charities that serve our community every day.
